The 9 shapes, 9 colors and 8 picture project
Summation Paragraph
This project is called the 9 shapes , 9 colors and 8 pictures. We were required to move our 9 shapes around and create the 8 different art elements. Which would be balance, contrast, unity, focus and emphasize, proportion, pattern, movement and rhythm. When we made all of the 8 designs, we had to glue down our favorite design. I decided to glue down my unity and harmony design. I made it look like a tropical princess on a island with a mountain, a tree and her with her crown. I made this have unity because everything slides nicely with each other. And that is what unity is defined as; working together to create a beautifully to create a wonderful design.
During this project, I learned that with every art element there is, a new design can be created. See with proportion a different design was created and with balance a much different design came off then the proportion design. It is good to have a variety of designs with different elements because that way you can tell a story.
As I said above, the elements I used I this design were unity and harmony. The tree goes nicely with the mountains. The princesses crown fits perfectly around her yellow head. Unity and harmony are what makes pictured come together and flow. Unity and harmony are very important to an artist fork many ways.
The picture I created brings off a quiet peaceful mood. I feel with the palm tree it settles in a calm, brisk, settle feeling because it is tall and that usually is what Palm trees represent. I think that with the mountains in the background, it shows that it is a beautiful area and that it is calm. I also did not feel that the princess needs arms because I feel that would distract to what I really want to show off; her dress and crown. That is whey arms were not necessary.
In the end I feel that unity and harmony are what bring images together and connects the shapes to create a mood or feeling. What do you think this design brings off? Relaxation? Busyness? Beauty in the little things?
